Mrs Hinch fans share method to rid bathroom of black mould overnight using £1 spray

Cleaning gurus swear by a bargain cleaning trick when it comes to tackling black mould, as several people revealed in a tip-swapping social media post about stubborn bathroom stains

Nobody wants to find mould in their bathtub. Not only can the fungus cause allergic reactions and trigger asthma attacks, as per the NHS website, it's also pretty unsightly.

Unfortunately, it is also pretty common in bathrooms, as excess moisture is the root of the problem.

As such cleaning gurus and homeowners alike often find themselves on the hunt for the best mould remover money can buy. There are also plenty of tips and tricks social media users regularly test in a bid to battle stubborn mould.

One Facebook member who knows this only too well took to Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips in need of help.

"How do I get rid of the black dots around my bath? I guess mould. But I have tried Cilit Bang Black Mould. Tried bleach and leave it overnight, and tried pink stuff and it never goes. It just gets a bit lighter!" they claimed. The post was accompanied by a photo of their bathtub, with black mould visible across the sealant.

In response, several people suggested it could be time to replace the sealant, but many also revealed their favourite products that could help out.

Among these suggestions, a bargain spray quickly emerged as one of the favourites. One person replied: "Astonish mould and mildew. Spray and leave. Tried all sorts on my washer and like magic disappeared. Usually I have bleach soaked paper towel but this is much better and only a £1."

Another commenter seconded: "Astonish mould and mildew remover the best thing ever do not buy anything else it is 1.25."

Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Astonish mould remover just spray and leave it’s great stuff, use in ventilated room." Several people even claimed they'd seen results in 12 hours or less.
