A grocery store in Dublin was closed over a breach of food safety laws.

A separate closure order was issued to Momo's restaurant at Unit 8 Tuansgate, Belgard Square, Tallaght under European Union (Official Controls in Relation to Food Legislation) Regulations, 2020. The report states that an accumulation of thick dirt, grease, cobwebs, and food debris was found throughout the restaurant.

The enforcement order was served on July 27, 2023 and was lifted on August 2, 2023.

Additionally, Sichuan Chilli King at 100A Parnell Street was hit with a closure order under European Union Regulations 2020. Some of the reasons for the order were large deposits of grease and mould found, including heavy mould growth on a disused WC that was being used as a storeroom.

The enforcement order was issued on July 27, 2023, and was lifted on the same day.

Shi Wang Yu at 106 Parnell Square was also issued a closure order under the FSAI Act 1998. "Dozens" of live and dead cockroaches were found on the premises.

Mizzoni Pizza at 12 Railway Street, Navan was served with a closure order by the HSE under European Union (Official Controls in Relation to Food Legislation) Regulations, 2020. The order was enforced on August 2, 2023, and as of this morning, the orders have not been lifted.

Additionally, Dalesann Haulage Limited in Jamestown House, Jamestown Businesses Park, Jamestown Road, was given a closure order under European Union (Official Controls in Relation to Food Legislation) Regulations, 2020. The order was issued on August 2, 2023, and as of this morning, the orders have not been lifted.

FSAI boss Dr Pamela Byrne said: "Food safety is critical to safeguarding public health. Failures to follow the basics of staff training, regular cleaning and correct storage of food are seen again and again throughout the Enforcement Orders issued in July."
